BELLY DANCE TELEVISION
"Underbelly" is a fascinating look at a cross section of the Los Angeles Belly Dance scene. Pleasant (aka Princess Farhana) is truly a unique woman. I found myself drawn into her world and captivated by her energy. Her raw honesty and love of life, her drive to teach the dance and share her passion with others, and her inner strength that has allowed her to be who she wants to be and do what her heart tells her to, has been an unexpected source of inspiration. Sometimes raunchy, sometimes silly, but always real, this story - and the people in it - represent an intriguing part of our modern culture. I'm glad someone recognized the significance of one individual's journey and the impact it can have on the people whose lives it touches. "Underbelly" is an artfully crafted documentary that reveals the humanity in the fantasy world of belly dance.
