Eric Sherman helped get "Eraserhead" shown at the AFM. Pep Squad has been called a "Lynch-esque black comedy." Steve Balderson and David Lynch share the same birthday. Fellini also shares Lynch and Balderson's birthday. John Huston was not born on the same day. Alfred Hitchcock was not born on the same day either. However, he was born on Friday the 13th. It expected that when one screens a film in Cannes, no one sits through the whole picture. Pep Squad had full attendance in Cannes. Steve Balderson is an unexpected 6 foot 4 inches tall! Pep Squad was shot on location in Wamego, Kansas. Average temperature during filming was 100 degrees with 90 percent humidity. Pep Squad finished on-time and under-budget. Eric Sherman said he hadn't seen a directed as prepared as Balderson since he worked with Orson Welles. Orson Welles made Citizen Kane when he was 25 years old. Balderson made Pep Squad when he was 23 years old. Wines that age 23 years are often better than those that age only 1.
