There are no known photographs of the real Sandra. After researching her story, she gives me the feeling of the ultimate classic female performer (Marlene Deitrich, Bessie Smith and Edith Piaf - all rolled into one). The only woman alive who embodies all those women is Karen Black, who plays Sandra in the film. I almost put her current picture online in this section. But, the photos used in the True Story Investigation are actual photos from the true story - not the movie. And I didn't want to confuse the two. So I selected the above photo of Edith Piaf.
