KAREN BLACK

Karen Black, an award-winning actress whose work is known internationally for its diverse and unique qualities, continues to bring to each new character she portrays, in a seemingly effortless manner, a complete sense of realism and honesty. Whether her performance is for film, television or live on stage, Black always exhibits through her choice of material and her choices as an actor, a true dedication to her art.

Karen Black is best known for her roles in the classic "Five Easy Pieces" for which she won a Golden Globe Award and an Oscar nomination; "The Great Gatsby," which won her a second Golden Globe Award; and "The Day of The Locust," bringing yet another Golden Globe nomination. Other awards include Best Actress in "Burnt Offerings" from the Rome Science Fiction Fantasy Film Awards and a Best Science Fiction Award from the Paris Science Fiction Awards for her role in "Trilogy of Terror." Karen won raves for her role in Robert Altman's films "Nashville" and "Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean." Karen was also nominated for the Drama Circle Critics Award for Best Actress for her performance in The Playroom.
